Coach Mauro was a three-year starter in football, wrestling and lacrosse at Sachem.
-As an All-Division selection in football, Coach Mauro was voted to play in the annual Outback Steakhouse Bowl. This bowl game showcased the 50 best seniors from Long Island against the 50 best seniors from NYC.
-During wrestling Coach Mauro was an All-League selection twice.
-In lacrosse, Coach Mauro was All-Division in his junior year and a member of the Long Island Empire State team. As a senior, Coach Mauro was voted All-American and participated in the annual North/South National Lacrosse all-star game.
-After high school Coach Mauro continued his education at Butler University in Indianapolis. While there he was a three-year starter for their division one lacrosse team, twice being selected to the All-GWLL team.
-For his senior year Coach Mauro transferred home to Dowling College. While there he also continued to play lacrosse and became an All American. In addition he was selected First Team ALL NYCAC and a Scholar Athlete.
- In 2003 Coach Mauro received his Masters Degree from Dowling. Currently Coach Mauro teaches special education at Sachem North H.S. |
